Since finishing my MSW program in 2009 at the University of Michigan, my career has been focused on helping teens and adults make positive changes in their daily lives.
I encourage clients to challenge thoughts that have resulted in feelings of anxiety, sadness, hopelessness, helplessness, or other mental health concerns. My goal is to help clients live more peacefully.
I use an eclectic mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy and Strengths-Based Therapy. I operate under the assumption that in order to have a positive impact, the therapist must be able to connect, relate, and truly believe in the client's ability to accomplish their goals.
I enjoy working with a variety of clients. I love providing mental health therapy for people who are open-minded, insightful, and engaged.
Many of my clients are:
- From various religious backgrounds (including Atheist and Agnostic)
- Coping with life transitions (going to college, starting a new career, getting married, having children, divorcing, retiring, etc...)
- Learning how to manage Borderline Personality Disorder/PTSD
- Surviving anxiety and/or depression
- Determined to quit using substances (alcohol or other drugs, including nicotine)
- Dealing with codependency
- Experiencing medical problems (cancer, chronic pain, pregnancy loss, etc...)
- Grieving the loss of a beloved family member, friend, or pet.
- Grieving the loss of someone with whom they have had a conflictual relationship
- Managing low self-esteem
- Counselors themselves
